May 2010 - Louis Davis
Louis Davis Louis Davis from the St Michael's Dojo is the Student of the Month for May.

Louis, who is an redbelt, is six and has been doing karate since he was four and a half. He enjoys karate for the discipline, and the challenge of getting more belts, and says that it gives him more confidence. 

He was awarded the student of the month for his hard work, and good manners. Well done Louis!
 
March 2010 - Sempai Rushil Vadgama
Sempai Rushil Vadgama The Student of the Month for March is Sempai Rushil Vadgama. 

Sempai Rushil, who is 13, is one of Sensei Debi's longest standing pupils, having started karate 9 years ago when he was only 4. He says that he has carried on for so long because of the constant support and encouragement he got from Sensei Debi and his parents, who wouldn't let him stop! He earned his Junior Black Belt last year and has started assisting some of the Senior Instructors in classes, and now he's in it for life!  He loves the teaching, as he enjoys helping others and focussing on their technique helps him to improve his own.
 
He was chosen as Student of the Month because of his diligence, his positive and respectful attitude and his ongoing hard work.  Congratulations Sempai!
 
January/ February 2010 - Connor O'Neill
Connor O'Neill
The Student of the Month for January/February 2010 is Connor O'Neill. 

Connor, who is 9, started at Pee Wee Karate when he was 4.  He has worked very hard since then and is now a 4th Kyu (Purple with a stripe).  He has carried on for so long because he really enjoys karate and because he always fancied being a black belt. 

If he continues to put in as much effort as he has done up until now, we are sure he will make it. Congratulations Connor and keep up the good work!
 
December 2009 - Nikhil Vadagama
Nikhil
December's student of the month, is Nikhil Vadgama, who trains at Heathfield School and the Kew Dojo.  Nikhil, who is 10, started Pee Wee Karate at school when he was six, and is now a 2nd Kyu Brown belt. 

He describes himself as a sporty person, and likes karate because he gets a lot of exercise while doing it!  Recently Nikhil was chosen by Sensei Debi to do a karate demo at Heathfield in front of the whole school, which he carried off very successfully.
 
He was chosen as student of the month for his concentration and his excellent technique. Congratulations Nikhil.
 
November 2009 - Freya Thompson
Freya Thompson The student of the month for November is Freya Thompson, who trains at Broomfield House and the Kew Dojo.  She started karate at school when she was three years old, and is now a green belt.  She recently attended the FSKA World Championships in Sun City, where she did very well, winning a silver for her individual kata and a bronze for kumite.  Her favourite part of karate training is learning new kata.
 
She was chosen as student of the month for her dedication, concentration during training, and her consistent hard work. Well Done Freya!
