Gradings

The next grading for all Funakoshi Karate Students will be on 28th June and will be held at
The German School, Douglas House, Petersham Road, Richmond, TW10 7AH

White, red, yellow and orange belts must be at the German School at 9am for registration. They will have a fun training session from
9.30am-11am, this session is unfortunately closed to spectators.

Their grading will start at 11.30am and finish at around 1.30pm and we encourage all parents to come along and watch the grading.

8th Kyu (Blue belts) and upwards will register at 1.30pm and their training session will be from 2-4pm, followed by their grading. As usual we welcome and encourage you to attend and show your support whilst your child is grading.

Please can all students bring their fighting kit, skipping rope and a small snack with refreshments? If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on: 020 8940 8958 or funakoshikarateuk@yahoo.co.uk

The cost of training session is £20 and the grading is as usual £25.

Please remember that I have introduced the ‘tag’ system, which applies only for red belt to green belt with a stripe. If your child had worked hard but not quite make the standard required for a full belt then they will be awarded a tag for the belt they are attempting to achieve. It is really important that the parents re-enforce what the instructor tell the children, which is if they get a tag they have done well and have improved during the term. Please ensure that you are positive about the achievement.

Tournaments

Spring FSKA Club Tournament
We will be holding a FUN tournament for ALL FSKA students. 50 % of the profit of the day will be donated to the FUNDRAISING TEAM to help children go to South Africa to compete in our style world karate tournament in September this year. More info on this event will follow

FSKA World Karate Tournament, Sun City, South Africa
The dates have been finalised and our team will be in Sun City, South Africa from
4th –6th September 2009. To help the parents with the expense of the trip we have set up a fundraising committee and would hugely appreciated if each parent could make a small or large donation to this team. All donations should be placed in an envelope and handed to the instructors with your Childs name on the envelope.
We are also looking for ANY CORPORATE sponsorship. The event will be televised throughout AFRICA. Should you be able to help,  please urgently e-mail me (above address). Without your help the team will not be able to go. We need to provide tracksuits, kit bags, suits and t-shirts for each member of the team. Again your corporate logo could be on all of these. If each Pee-Wee Karate and Funakoshi karate student donates £10 will have £4000 start to our fundraising.
